This Loriciferan was found in a sample of shell sand collected from the Pukao seamount near Rapa Nui. This samples was taken during D666 with the ROV SuBastian, operating from the research vessel Falkor (too), belonging to the Schmidt Ocean Institute. This species of Pliciloricidae is the fifth observation of Loricifera in Chilean territorial waters. Previously a four of species were found on the abyssal plain near the Atacama trench by Sorensen et al. (2023).
