This specimen of Hoftherma hatsushimaensis gen. et sp. nov. is a new species of acoel discovered at a deep-sea hydrocarbon seep. It was collected on October 24, 2021 at a depth of 911 m, among Bathymodiolus aggregations, off Hatsushima Island in Sagami Bay, Japan; by Dr. Natsumi Hookabe.
